To treat parasitic infections 20g per 1000 gallons (4546L) daily for 4 days

When to use?
When fish show symptoms of a bacterial infection (ulcers, fin, tail or mouth rot, loose scales), parasitic infection (Costia, Trichodina, skin or gill flukes), flicking and rubbing against rough surfaces or gasping.
At Wayside we can perform a "scrape" on any pond fish brought to us (if you bring a live fish, transport them in a bucket of water with a towel over the top to keep them calm). Taking a scrape of mucus off the side of the fish and placing this under a microscope allows us to identify exactly which parasites are on your fish, and therefore advise on the best treatment. Scrapes on pond fish do not usually cause any harm. Having a scrape performed on your fish is highly recommended before proceeding with any parasite treatment.

How to use?
Test your water quality. Test kits can be bought here, or alternatively bring a sample of water in store for testing.
Switch off the UV for the duration of this treatment.
Mix the appropriate dosage in a clean bucket of pond water and pour evenly over the surface of the pond.
Aerate the pond well during treatment.
After treatment it is a good idea to do a partial water change (15%-25%) and remember to turn the UV back on.

  • Repeat dose?
If you fish are still showing symptoms, bring one fish over to Wayside in a bucket of water for a scrape. We can then confirm if there are any remaining parasites on the fish and therefore if a repeat dose is necessary.
Some treatments are better suited to dealing with some parasites but not others, so a dose of a different treatment may be necessary if your fish has multiple types of parasites.
After dosing with Chloramine T, any further treatments should only be used after 10 days after the final dose. A partial water change is necessary between treatments too.

FAQs:
Q: I have to remove chlorine & chloramine from my tap water so why am I now adding it in with these products?

A: Although they share very similar names, chloramine and chloramine T are in fact very different compounds and have quite different properties.
