POND FILTRATION

Pond filtration is a very broad subject and space limitations only allow us to touch upon it, therefore we strongly advise a personal visit to Wayside Water Gardens to discuss your own individual requirements.
Installing a filter system to a pool can take the simple form of an aquatic plant balance, providing the plants have ample time to establish before the first fish are introduced and fish stocks are kept to a modest amount. For larger quantities of fish (the norm!) or where Koi carp are to be kept a more substantial system needs to be fitted.

Pressure filters from 2,700Ltrs. (600galls) - 13,600Ltrs. (3,000galls). This type of filter is used when space is of a premium or when water exiting the filter is required to travel uphill back to the pond or waterfall. This is the only type of filter that can be installed outside the pool below water level.

ULTRA-VIOLET UNITS (U.V`S)
When green water (algae) is pumped through a U.V unit, of the correct size, the algae is killed by the high levels of U.V light. This dead algae is then strained out of the water by the filter box and biologically decomposed.
U.V`s can significantly improve the performance of a filter but cannot replace a filter as they DO NOT remove fish waste products.

Wayside`s revolutionary new filter bags, remove 90% of fish waste solids and suspended particles and makes filter cleaning so much easier. Used exclusively by ourselves and now available to our customers. Suitable for top inlet pump fed filters and some gravity fed filters. Available in 3 sizes. (FB10, FB20 and FB50) Available by mail order.
